The seaside resort of Ilfracombe is located on the scenic North Devon coast with many beaches, country walks and seaside towns and villages to explore. The Cairn House is located on the main road into the town set back up a sweeping driveway with fantastic views across the town and towards the sea. Cairn House also overlooks Bicclescombe Park and Gardens which is only a minutes walk away.
Bicclescombe Park
A traditional Victorian public park with play area, formal flower beds, and tennis courts. A working water mill here has adjoining tea rooms and a picnic area, and is open from Easter until October
Landmark Theatre
The Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe is North Devon’s newest arts and entertainment complex. The stunning theatre, capable of seating 480, also boasts cinema-screening facilities and is complemented by The Pavilion, a multi-use flat floor space, capable of seating up to 200 people theatre style.
The Cairn Nature Reserve
This wooded hill, known as the Cairn, stands 520 feet (158m) above sea level, offering fine views of Ilfracombe and the surrounding countryside. A hundred years ago it was covered in gorse and rough grass, until the local council planted the whole 19 acres (7 hectares) with a mixture of deciduous and conifer trees and converted the area into a ‘country park’ with numerous pathways and shelters.
